ROSTOV-ON-DON. May 7 (Interfax-AVN) - Over 2,300 servicemen of the Rostov-on-Don and the Novocherkassk military garrisons will participate in the parade, devoted to the 59th anniversary of the victory in World War II.
" Teatralnaya Square in Rostov-on-Don will host the parade, involving forces of the Rostov-on-Don and the Novocherkassk military garrisons on Sunday. The parade will see participation of over 2,300 servicemen, and three cadet corps from Rostov-on- Don, Novocherkassk, and Belaya Kalitva, as well as cadets from the Novocherkassk Military Communications Institute and the Rostov-on-Don Strategic Missile Forces Institute," the press- service of the North Caucasus Military District told Interfax- Military News Agency on Friday.
According to the press-service, the salute will be taken by Army General Vladimir Boldyrev, Commander of the North Caucasus Military District, while the parade will be run by Colonel General Sergey Makarov, his deputy.
"The parade will be spearheaded by a formation of veterans of the Great Patriotic War," a press-service official said.
According to him, parade formations will be manned with battalions and companies of the North Caucasus Military District C2 Directorate, the 4th Air Force Army, the North Caucasus Interior Ministry Forces District, the Regional Emergencies Ministry Center, as well as the company of the Rostov-on-Don Ataman Regiment of the Great Don Cossack Force.
"The parade in Rostov-on-Don will be supported by the military band of the garrison, comprising 250 musicians," the official said.
According to him, celebrations, devoted to the Victory Day anniversary, will end at 10:00 p.m. Moscow time (1800 GMT) with a 30-round volley salute from artillery and salute systems.
