Russia to take part in NATO exercise in Atlantic

SEA ISLAND. June 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia will take part in the NATO military exercise in the Northern Atlantic in fall this year, aide to the Russian president Sergei Prikhodko told reporters.

"The decision to this effect was made at the meeting between Russian and U.S. Presidents Vladimir Putin and George Bush that took place in the G-8 framework. The two presidents were discussing military cooperation," Prikhodko said.

In response to a question from Interfax, he said that "parameters of Russia's participation will be finalized by the defense ministers of the two countries."
