MOSCOW. June 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The second troop train, carrying conscripts from the Moscow region, is to leave for the Russian Far East later in the week.
"The regional military commissioner's office is about to complete manning the second troop train with spring conscripts to be sent to the Far East," Colonel Stanislav Morozov, Deputy Military Commissioner of the Moscow region, told Interfax- Military News Agency on Wednesday.
He noted that the troop train was to leave the Zheleznodorozhny railway station on Friday.
"The troop train will carry about 1,000 conscripts, drafted by military commissioner's offices of the Moscow Military Distrcit," he said.
He also clarified that it was the second troop train, sent to the Far East in the course of the ongoing spring conscription. "The first troop train with 1,500 draftees was sent off in mid- May this year," Morozov said.
He also said that as of Wednesday almost 100% of conscripts had been drafted. "We have already sent off over 60% of the overall number of inductees. Thus, the plan will have been fulfilled by June 30. The plan envisions for the Moscow region to draft 5,000 conscripts, who are to serve in the Armed Forces, as well as other law-enforcement agencies," Morozov noted.
