CHISINAU. June 16 (Interfax-AVN) - The CIS interior ministers have reached an agreement to step up cooperation in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration, and human trafficking.
The agreements were reached at a session of the Council of Interior Ministers of the CIS countries held in Chisinau.
The CIS interior ministers signed several documents, including decisions on the improvement of forms and methods of cooperation between the ministries and on developing cooperation in the prevention of human trafficking and illegal migration.
Moldovan Interior Minister Gheorghe Papuc said that "despite positive changes in the fight against crime in several countries of the CIS, the situation remains tense."
"This necessitates more effective cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of these countries," he said.
