MOSCOW. June 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is meeting on Saturday to discuss matters including developments in regions bordering the organization's zone of responsibility, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.
The meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council, to be held in Astana, Kazakhstan, is expected to involve "a discussion in practical terms on more intensive military and military technological cooperation," ministry spokesman Alexander Yakovenko told reporters.
"This concerns not only the training of military personnel and supplies of products of military purposes but also the joint manufacture and modernization of current defense systems, such as the CIS United Air Defense System, which is one of the most important elements of the collective security of the CSTO member states," he said.
