KHANKALA. June 28 (Interfax-AVN) -- A powerful homemade explosive device has been seized from three Dagestanis in the Grozny rural district of Chechnya, the regional headquarters managing anti-guerilla efforts in the North Caucasus said on Monday.
Policemen found the device equivalent to 6-7kg of TNT while checking vehicles near the village of Petropavlovskoye, a headquarters spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The device had a plastic cover and was packed in a cardboard box. It was found in the trunk of a white VAZ-2107 car without number plates. The identification numbers on the car's body and engine were removed.
"Three residents of the Republic of Dagestan were in the car. All of them were detained. They had no documents on the car. The vehicle was delivered to the police parking lot. The investigation is underway," the spokesman said.
