BISHKEK. July 5 (Interfax-AVN) - The Kyrgyz National Security Service is inspecting a number of ministries and departments in connection with the recent detention of ten civil servants on suspicion of espionage, a source in the National Security Service's press center told Interfax on Monday.
"The secret service is checking a number of ministries and departments, and official comments will be made later," the source said.
The service detained ten civil servants on July 2 on suspicion of spying for another country and international terrorist organizations.
The Kyrgyz media reported on July 2 that the detainees include high-ranking government employees from the Justice Ministry, the Interior Ministry and the Foreign Ministry.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said on July 2 that claims about the detention of its staff members were untrue.
