MOSCOW. July 5 (Interfax-AVN) - Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Nikolai Bordyuzha will study Russian arms samples that will be offered to other CSTO member nations on preferential prices while visiting the international arms show in Nizhny Tagil later this week, Alexander Orlov, press secretary of the CSTO secretariat, said on Monday.
"The CSTO secretary general left for Nizhny Tagil today to attend an international exhibition of arms, military hardware and ammunition scheduled for July 6-10 and study Russian arms samples that will be supplied in the CSTO framework on preferential prices. I am talking about the BTR-80 APC, upgraded artillery systems, and munitions," Orlov told Interfax-Military News Agency.
The defense ministers of the CSTO member nations are invited to the arms show. "The defense ministers of the CSTO member nations have received invitations to the international arms exhibition in Nizhny Tagil and are likely to use this chance for studying more thoroughly the promising Russian armament samples that have entered the inventory of many nations," Orlov noted.
He stressed that Bordyuzha will return to Moscow on Wednesday.
The Collective Security Treaty Organization brings together Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
