MOSCOW. July 19 (Interfax-AVN) - An Indian delegation discussed prospects of space cooperation with Russia while visiting the Federal Space Agency, the agency's press service reported on Monday.
"The meeting of Indian delegation leader Madhavan Nair and head of the Federal Space Agency Anatoly Perminov addressed, in particular, prospects of joint restoration and use of the GLONASS satellite navigation system and possibilities of launching Russian spacecraft by Indian carrier rockets," the report reads.
The parties discussed additions to the draft agreement between Russia and India on space activity, which is to be signed in late 2004.
"The parties also considered development of equipment for Earth's remote probing, joint research in the sphere of electric engine systems for spacecraft, prospects of implementing joint Moon probing projects, and development of a solar observatory, i.e. a spacecraft studying the sun's roentgen emission," the report reads.
To sum up results of the talks, Perminov and Nair signed a joint protocol on further cooperation.
