Communication with space walking spacemen lost briefly

MOSCOW. Aug 3 (Interfax-AVN) - The International Space Station briefly lost attitude and the ability to communicate for 20 minutes while the two cosmonauts were outside in space.

The loss of attitude is at the moment attributed to overload of the U.S. gyros.

The cosmonauts moved to a safe distance from the gyros. Russian Mission Control Center engineers turned on engines on the Zvezda module, following which the station regained the attitude

Dave Wolf, the man in charge of NASA's extravehicular activity branch, has told reporters that this was the first accident of this kind during a space walk operation.

He said that space walks would most probably be continued.
