Sukhumi expects Luzhkov to visit Abkhazia

SUKHUMI. Aug 4 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov may visit the self-proclaimed republic of Abkhazia, sources in the Abkhaz government told Interfax on Wednesday.

It is possible that Luzhkov's visit may take place on Thursday, the sources said. Representatives of the Adygeya republic should arrive in Abkhazia with Luzhkov, they said.

The new Abkhaz Foreign Minister, Igor Akhba, has arrived in Moscow, the sources said. "Akhba retained the position of Abkhaz envoy to Russia, so his visit to Russia is connected with this fact, among others," one of the sources said.
