MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and Georgian Defense Minister Georgi Baramidze will meet in Moscow this week to discuss issues of military cooperation and military and political problems, a source in the Russian Defense Ministry's press service told Interfax-Military News Agency.
Baramidze will begin his visit on Monday morning. He will meet with Ivanov on Tuesday, the source said.
"The two will discuss the future prospects of bilateral military cooperation and share opinions on a number of burning military and political issues," the source added.
On August 11, the final day of the Georgian official's visit, he will meet with Russian chief of staff Col. Gen. Yury Baluyevsky.
The negotiations will address the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia and the possible terms for withdrawing Russian military bases from Batumi and Akhalkalaki, a Russian Defense Ministry source told Interfax-AVN.
