MOSCOW/TSKHINVALI. Aug 9 (Interfax-AVN) - South Ossetia refuted Tbilisi's statement that a simulation of attempt to assassinate Eduard Kokoity, President of the breakaway republic, is planned.
"This is not true," Robert Guliyev, Interior Minister of South Ossetia, told Interfax-Military News Agency Monday over the telephone.
"It is Tbilisi that can attempt to provoke conflict, but not we. We abide by the agreed commitments in full," he said.
According to Guliyev, additional measures were taken to ensure security of president due to the tension growth in South Ossetia.
Georgy Targamadze, Chairman of the Georgian parliament Defense and National Security Committee, told a news conference in Tbilisi Monday that Tskhinvali is going to stage a simulated attempt on Kokoity to start retaliation operations in Georgian villages of South Ossetia afterwards.
