MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax-AVN) - A motorcade of Russian armored vehicles was stopped near the village of Eredvi in South Ossetia on Thursday morning for the sake of the motorcade security, Georgian State Minister for Separatist Conflicts Giorgi Khaindrava told Interfax by phone.
"There are no other reasons. The motorcade was stopped for its own security, because a special operation of Georgian forces had been on in the area since morning. The operation may be over in two hours and the motorcade will be let go," Khaindrava said.
He said Gen. Svyatoslav Nabzdorov, who led the Russian peacekeeping motorcade, had been informed about reasons for the delay.
