MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The land forces arms exhibitions in Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk region, and Krasnoarmeisk, Moscow region, will be held in different time: the former in odd years, the latter in even ones.
This was announced at the Thursday meeting of the working group on advertising and exhibiting in the sphere of military and technological cooperation.
"Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov approved of the plan to have three weapons exhibitions in the country: an air show (MAKS - Interfax-AVN), a naval demonstration in St. Petersburg and another one for land forces' armaments. As to the arms exhibition, we think it effective to hold it in Krasnoarmeisk in even years, and in Nizhny Tagil in odd years," Deputy Chairman of the Military and Technical Cooperation Committee Vladimir Paleshchuk said.
He added that these should be partners aimed to support each other. What is done in Nizhny Tagil, should be done in Krasnoarmeisk, and vice versa, he said.
According to him, the exhibitions in Nizhny Tagil and Krasnoarmeisk should become the basic arms shows not only in Russia, but in the whole CIS. He added that a meeting of the Military and Technical Cooperation Committee is scheduled for September to discuss the issue of arms exhibitions organization among all others.
