ST.PETERSBURG. Aug 24 (Interfax-AVN) - The housing operation department of the Leningrad military district sill owes over 10 million Russian rubles ($345,720) to St. Petersburg public utilities on the eve of the winter heating period, a source in the department told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"As only 71 percent of funding has been provided, house administrations of the department owe 10.1 million rubles to public services providers of St. Petersburg. In particular, they owe 2.6 million rubles ($89,000) for running water, 6.7 million ($229,340) for electric power, and 0.8 million ($27,380) for central heating," the source said.
The situation at the Leningrad naval base is not better, he said. According to the Petrodvorets district administration, the naval engineer service owes about 24 million rubles ($821,520) to public services providers.
The housing operation department of the Leningrad military district has prepared 38 residential blocks (82 percent), four boiler houses (44 percent), seven cultural and social facilities (70 percent), eight medical establishments (72 percent) and 79 percent of heating networks for winter.
