Rostov prosecutors probing breach of transport safety

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - The Rostov regional prosecutor's office has initiated a criminal case on the Tuesday crash of a TU-154 Careless airliner to investigate breaches of transport operation security, a source with the regional police told Interfax.

"There are solid grounds for opening a criminal case under this article of the Criminal Code, because a minute before the plane's crash, a Rostov police office had received a message from air traffic controller Sviridov, who said the plane's crew had been attacked," the source said.

"The report on the attack on the crew in fact came just one minute before the plane disappeared from radar screens," he said.
