Putin appoints transport minister to investigate plane crashes

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - President Vladimir Putin has appointed Transport Minister Igor Levitin chairman of the state commission to investigate the Tuesday crashes of two Russian airliners, Putin's press secretary Aleksei Gromov told Interfax on Wednesday.

"The president ordered the minister to make suggestions on the members of the commission as soon as possible," Gromov said.
