Experts to determine if blasts preceded plane crashes

MOSCOW. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Experts from the Russian special services, including two teams of bomb identification experts from the Federal Security Service (FSB), are working at the scene of crashes of a TU-134 Crusty and a TU-154 Careless airliners near Tula and Rostov-on-Don.

The bomb experts, together with specialists from the Interior Ministry, are seeking to determine whether explosions preceded the catastrophes, the FSB press center told Interfax on Wednesday.

A terrorist attack scenario is being scrutinized, the press center said.

The incidents are being investigated by a joint investigative team including officers from the FSB, the Interior Ministry, and the prosecutor's office, it said.

All other possible reasons behind the crashes are being studied as well, it said.
