BATUMI. Aug 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania on Wednesday confirmed that Armed Forces chief of staff Givi Iukuridze will be dismissed.
"A detailed commentary on reshuffles will be given by the defense minister at a visiting government session in Batumi on Wednesday afternoon," Zhvania said.
Iukuridze will be posted to a foreign country as a military attache in a Georgian embassy, he said.
Georgian media earlier reported that President Mikheil Saakashvili intended to announce personnel changes at a Wednesday Cabinet session.
