MOSCOW. Aug 30 (Interfax-AVN) - President Vladimir Putin has partially lifted the arms embargo on Iraq and multinational forces.
The ordinance was released on the presidential website on Monday.
"All governmental agencies, industrial, commercial, transport and other organizations, companies, banks and other legal entities and individuals under the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation, shall take into consideration that the ban on selling or delivering armaments and military property to Iraq, which was declared by earlier resolutions of the UN Security Council, shall not be valid for armaments and property the Iraqi interim government or multinational forces need for implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1546 of June 8, 2004, starting from June 8, 2004," reads the ordinance.
