NAZRAN. Sept 1 (Interfax-AVN) - Following the seizure of a school in the North Ossetian town of Beslan on Wednesday, all Ingush law enforcement agencies have been put on alert, spokesperson for the Ingush Interior Ministry Madina Khadziyeva told Interfax.
"All the Ingush Interior Ministry personnel and also Russian Interior Ministry troops stationed in the republic have been ordered to remain in their barracks and have been put on alert," she said.
Security measures at all important facilities in Ingushetia have also been stepped up, Khadziyeva said.
Ingushetia and North Ossetia are neighboring Russian internal republics located in the North Caucasus. Ingushetia also borders Chechnya.
