VILNIUS. Sept 3 (Interfax-AVN) - The Open Spirit 2004 international mine sweeping exercise has started in the coastal waters and exclusive economic zone of Lithuania in the Baltic Sea.
"The Open Spirit 2004 international exercise is be held in coastal water and exclusive economic zone of Lithuania with the participation of naval forces of 13 countries on September 3-14," a spokesman for the Lithuanian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency Friday.
"The exercise will see the participation of 27 naval ships from Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Russia, Sweden, Estonia and Finland, with a total number of about 1,200 servicemen to be involved," he said.
