318 injured in Beslan hostage crisis still in N. Ossetian hospitals

VLADIKAVKAZ. Sept 8 (Interfax-South) - A total of 318 people, including 191 children, who sustained injuries as a result of the hostage crisis in the North Ossetian town of Beslan are still being treated in the republic's hospitals, a source in the North Ossetian Health Ministry told Interfax on Wednesday.

A report available as of 7:00 a.m. Moscow time (0300 GMT) suggests that 33 patients, including 9 children, are in serious condition, the source said.

Another 17 have been admitted to hospitals in Moscow and 11 are being treated in Rostov-on-Don.

The death toll from the terrorist attack in Beslan stands at over 300, and more than 300 people were injured.
