MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Moscow is prepared for preemptive attacks on terrorist bases in any part of the world, said Chief of Staff of the Russian armed forces Colonel General Yury Baluyevsky.
"As for preemptive strikes on terrorist bases, we will take any steps to eliminate terrorist bases in any region of the world. However, this does not mean that we will deliver nuclear strikes," Baluyevsky told journalists in Moscow on Wednesday.
The choice of "means for such an attack will be determined by a specific situation in this or that region," Baluyevsky said. "Military measures is the last resort in fighting terrorism," he said.
"In Beslan, the armed forces mainly supported the activity of the special services," he said.
