South Ossetian leader calls for keeping quiet in North Caucasus

VLADIKAVKAZ. Sept 10 (Interfax-South) - South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity has called on Ossetians to show wisdom, unite and prevent escalation of tension in the North Caucasus so as not to allow groups planning a new Caucasian war to succeed.

"Today the people of Ossetia undergo new trials because the terrorists who have atrociously shot dead our children and those who are behind them have imposed on us their scenario of developments. What they wanted was to cause an upheaval here, in North Ossetia," he said in Vladikavkaz on Friday.

"I want everybody to be vigilant and rebuff those who want to cash in on the sorrow of the Ossetian people," Kokoity said.
