DUSHANBE. Sept 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The final stage of the tactical exercise, involving live fire and being conducted by the Russian 201st Motorized Rifle Infantry Division, deployed in Tajikistan, will take place at the Momirak firing range (over 200 km south-east of Dushanbe) on Wednesday, the divisional headquarters told Interfax-Military News Agency.
"The main objective of the battalion-size tactical exercise, held in the direct vicinity of the Tajik-Afghan border, consists in refining strict cooperation during combat operations against international terrorists in alpine terrain," the headquarters said.
The exercise is aimed at improving teamwork and combat skills of servicemen in various combat operations. The exercise involves armor, attack aircraft and helicopters, the headquarters said.
"The final stage of the exercise will start at the Momirak firing range on Wednesday," it said.
