ASTANA. Sept 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov said that the struggle against terrorism has a great deal to do with the problem of separatism.
Fradkov made this statement following a meeting of the prime ministers of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Astana on Wednesday.
A Georgian reporter asked Fradkov whether the prime ministers had discussed the struggle against separatism.
"This issue was not on the agenda, but separatism had been discussed during bilateral meetings, including during talks between the Russian and Georgian prime ministers," said Fradkov.
"Concerning the fight against terrorism, which has a great deal to do with the problem of separatism, this problem worries everybody," Fradkov said.
"It is assuming a global scope. We welcome information exchanges between CIS countries, as well as coordination of actions between law enforcement agencies and the protection of the borders," he said.
"Only by uniting our efforts can we defeat this evil," he said.
"We must learn to draw lessons and make conclusions," the Russian prime minister said.
