MOSCOW. Sept 15 (Interfax-AVN) - The number of OSCE military observers in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict area may be increased, Gennady Dzyuba, a Russian Defense Ministry press-service official, told Interfax-Military News Agency over the phone from Tskhinvali.
According to him, the issue of a possible increase in military observers was touched upon by Roy Reeve, head of the OSCE Mission to Georgia, during the meeting with Major General Marat Kulakhmetov, Commander of the Joint Peacekeeping Force, in Tskhinvali on Wednesday.
"Reeve noted that it was advisable to increase the strength of OSCE military observers in the region, given the latest developments," Dzyuba said.
He also said that Reeve had promised to render assistance to peacekeepers, in particular, as far as communications means were concerned.
