MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax-AVN) - A Russian-South Korean intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the peaceful exploration and utilization of outer space was signed in the Kremlin on Tuesday in the presence of Presidents Vladimir Putin and Roh Moon Hyun.
The agreement was signed by Federal Space Agency chief Anatoly Perminov and South Korean Science and Technology Minister Oh Myung.
The two presidents welcomed the signing of the agreement in a joint declaration, which says that Moscow and Seoul have agreed to "continue their cooperation in the development of a Korean civilian space launch system and in implementing joint manned flights programs."
This cooperation is "aimed at preparing the first South Korean cosmonaut by 2007," the declaration said.
