MOSCOW. Sept 28 (Interfax-AVN) - The Moscow police announced that they have solved the murder of prominent American journalist and editor-in-chief of the Russian edition of Forbes magazine, Paul Klebnikov.
"In the early hours of Tuesday, Moscow policemen detained two Chechens involved in Klebnikov's murder," Moscow police chief Lieutenant General Vladimir Pronin told Interfax on Tuesday.
The police seized three handguns from the detainees.
"These Chechens earlier held another person hostage," Pronin said.
Klebnikov was killed when he was leaving the Forbes editorial office on Dokukin Street in Moscow on the evening of July 9. Klebnikov received several bullet wounds and died in city clinic No. 20. The murder is being handled by the special investigations department of the Prosecutor General's Office.
