KUBINKA, Moscow Region. Sept 28 (Interfax-AVN) - A single command system will be introduced in a division of the Moscow Military District in 2005, Army General Alexei Moskovsky, Deputy Defense Minister, told reporters in Kubinka on Tuesday.
"It is going to be a complex automated command, control, communication, intelligence, electronic countermeasures, navigation and identification system," he said.
He added that the introduction of the system was in plans under the 2005 state defense order.
He also said that the main feature of this and next years' defense orders is the fact that weapons are purchased in a bulk. "We are starting to acquire complete sets of weapons, rather than single pieces of equipment," said he.
Moskovsky supervised the periodical training of engineers and technicians of the Russian Armed Forces held in Kubinka Tuesday.
The general said that the training would move to the premises of the Strategic Missile Force detachments on Tuesday afternoon. "Tomorrow we will work at the Obninsk naval base, and finish the training in Moscow," he said.
The training is scheduled to end on Thursday.
