MOSCOW. Sept 29 (Interfax-AVN) - A Russian military airplane made an emergency landing in a field in Russia's North Caucasus on Tuesday after one of its engines came to a standstill during a training flight at an altitude of 2.8 kilometers, the air force said.
It was unclear whether the two-member crew was injured or to what extent the L-39 aircraft was damaged.
The crew refused to eject, Air Force spokesman Colonel Alexander Drobyshevsky told Interfax.
The plane landed in a field 12 kilometers from Maikop, capital of the Adygea region, he said.
