Russian-U.S. anti-terrorism group to meet in Moscow in 2004

MOSCOW. Sept 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Russian-U.S. working group on fighting terrorism will hold its next meeting in Moscow before the end of the year, says a report issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry's Information and Press Department on Tuesday.

The report says the ministry is counting on the further expansion of the Russian-U.S. partnership in countering the threat of international terrorism.

The group has met on 11 occasions thus far, it says.

The group has demonstrated that it is an efficient body which is capable of coordinating cooperation between the two countries in this field, the report says.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Kislyak will represent Russia in the group, it says.

He will replace First Deputy Foreign Minister Vyacheslav Trubnikov, who was recently appointed the new Russian ambassador to India, the report says.
