MOSCOW. Oct 6 (Interfax-AVN) - The case opened following an explosion that damaged an armored Mercedes-500 in the Moscow region's Odintsovo district earlier on Wednesday will be investigated by the Federal Security Service's (FSB) branch for Moscow and the Moscow region, a law enforcement source told Interfax.
"A preliminary report suggests that the explosive device was planted inside the car itself, presumably in its trunk," the source said.
He confirmed that the car was carrying high-ranking officials from the Interior Ministry of Dagestan, a republic of the Russian Federation that borders on Chechnya.
"None of the passengers were injured," the source said.
"We are currently investigating how the explosive device was planted inside the car and whether the explosion was accidental or planned," he said.
