MOSCOW. Oct 8 (Interfax-AVN) - Two new suspects, high-ranking Russian Defense Ministry officials, have appeared in the case of Yulia Tymoshenko, former Ukrainian deputy prime minister and energy company CEO, investigated by the Russian Main Military Prosecutor's Office.
Sources in law enforcement told Interfax that a joint probe conducted by Russia and Ukraine has established facts of damage to the Russian Defense Ministry by overstating by more than $10 million the prices of commodities delivered to the ministry by Ukraine's Unified Energy System which Tymoshenko headed at that time.
"The new information received extended the list of suspects in the case of damaging the interests of the Defense Ministry by at least two more officials from the ministry's central procurements department," the source said.
Earlier investigators charged Tymoshenko with organizing bribery of ministry officials "for overpricing material valuables delivered to Russia."
Tymoshenko has been declared internationally wanted and a writ for taking her into custody has been issued.
