GROZNY. Oct 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Presidential Envoy to the Southern Federal District Dmitry Kozak has signed a resolution appointing Chechen First Deputy Prime Minister Ramzan Kadyrov as his adviser for coordination of security agencies' operations.
Kozak's resolution was presented by Chechen President Alu Alkhanov in Grozny on Tuesday.
Kadyrov told Interfax that the fight against terrorism and banditry in the republic dominates his agenda as Chechnya's first deputy prime minister. "If the Chechen president finds it possible, I will continue to perform these functions in the future," he said.
Alkhanov told Interfax that he has signed a resolution appointing Kadyrov first deputy prime minister and is not going to recall the document.
Kadyrov's appointment as adviser comes as the authorities' recognition of his contribution to countering terrorism in Chechnya, Alkhanov said.
