CIS border guard services heads defining tasks for 2005 in Sochi

STAVROPOL. Oct 28 (Interfax-AVN) - Members of the CIS Border Guard Forces Commander Council are defining major tasks for 2005 at a meeting in Sochi, the press-service of the North Caucasus Regional Border Guard Directorate told Interfax-Military News Agency on Thursday.

"The meeting sees participation of heads of border guard forces of CIS member-states, save for Turkmenistan," a press-service official said.

Besides, the meeting, chaired by Colonel General Vladimir Pronichev, Deputy Director of the Russian Federal Security Service's Border Guard Forces, analyses the Council's activities, aimed at providing security to CIS member-states.

According to the press-service, Russian Security Council Secretary Igor Ivanov also plans to participate in the meeting.

The previous meeting of the Council was held in Georgia this July, while the Sochi meeting is the Council's 52nd.
