MOSCOW. Oct 29 (Interfax-AVN) - The Interior Ministry has taken numerous steps aimed at preventing illegal armed units from crossing the administrative border of Chechnya, Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev told the State Duma on Friday.
The 640-kilometer border is divided into four stretches guarded by 4,000 law enforcement officers and servicemen, he said.
A 1,141 men force of the Defense Ministry, interior forces and police officers protects public order in North Ossetia, Nurgaliyev said.
The Interior Ministry's anti-terrorism center does not duplicate the activities of the Federal Security Service, he said.
