Russian, Azerbaijani border guard chiefs discuss cooperation

MAKHACHKALA. Nov 2 (Interfax-AVN) - The border guard chiefs of Russia and Azerbaijan held a working meeting to discuss strengthening of border cooperation, a source in the North Caucasus regional border guard directorate told Interfax-Military News Agency on Tuesday.

"The Azerbaijani town of Khachmas hosted a working meeting of Colonel General Vladimir Pronichev, first deputy director of the Russian Federal Security Service and head of the Border Guard Service, and Lieutenant General Elchin Guliyev, head of the Azerbaijani State Border Guard Service, on Monday," the source said.

According to him, the parties discussed several issues "of mutual interest, including progress in the implementation of the interaction plan involving units of Russian and Azerbaijani border guard services."
