Policeman kidnapped in Grozny

GROZNY. Nov 9 (Interfax-AVN) - Unidentified armed abductors have kidnapped a policemen in Grozny, the Chechen Interior Ministry told Interfax on Sunday.

Ministry sources said that the abductors had stopped the policeman under the pretext of a passport check, pulled him into a car at gunpoint and taken him away in an unknown direction.

The policeman was abducted on his way back from a place he had visited on what turned out to be a false kidnapping call, the sources said.
