Daughter of former Georgian defense minister qualified for Special Forces

TBILISI. Nov 9 (Interfax-AVN) - The graduation ceremony of Georgian commandos will be organized at the Kojori Special Forces training center of the Georgian Armed Forces on Tuesday, a source in the Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"Qualification certificates will be handed out to 43 graduates, including the first female-commando, the daughter of former Georgian defense minister David Tevzadze," he said.

Tevzadze's successor Giorgi Baramidze will attend the ceremony accompanied by Brigadier General Vakhtang Kapanadze, Georgian Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff.

According to the source, there were 250 servicemen initially at the center, but most of them were discharged in the course of training.

The Kojori center is sponsored by Turkey.
