At least two foreign mercenaries among Beslan terrorists

MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax-AVN) - The probe into the Beslan terrorist attack in North Ossetia has revealed information indicating that at least two foreign citizens were among the terrorists.

"We have obtained information about a certain Magomed, a Turkish citizen, and Farukh, an Arab," Deputy Prosecutor General Nikolai Shepel said in an interview published in the Izvestia daily on Wednesday.

"According to information the Foreign Intelligence Service received from the CIA on September 3, Farukh called his mother in the town of Jidan in Saudi Arabia from the school building and said his last farewell to her," Shepel said.

Investigators have also identified a man who assisted the terrorists from outside the school building, Shepel said. "He informed the terrorists about what was going on around the school building and about the movement of troops. He is being looked for," he said.
