Ukrainian, Kazakh combat engineers neutralize about 9,000 munitions in Iraq

KYIV. Nov 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Ukrainian and Kazakh combat engineers neutralized about 9,000 munitions outside the Iraqi town of Al Numaniya on Tuesday, a Ukrainian Defense Ministry press-service official told Interfax-Military News Agency.

"In the course of the mine-clearing operation at an ammunition dump outside Al Numaniya, Ukrainian and Kazakh combat engineers, deployed in Iraq neutralized almost 9,000 munitions, including mortar bombs of various caliber, and artillery rounds with a caliber of 100 to 152 mm," the official said.

In addition to that, he said that when inspecting the premises of a factory outside Al Suwayra, scouts of the Ukrainian 7th Detached Mechanized Brigade had neutralized an arms cache (a mortar, a rocket launcher, Kalashnikov assault rifles, and ten mortar bombs).
