MOSCOW. Nov 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and his Spanish counterpart Jose Bono will discuss bilateral military cooperation and interaction in the NATO-Russia Council framework at talks in Moscow.
Bono is arriving in Moscow for an official visit on Monday, a spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry told Interfax-Military News Agency. "His talks with Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov are scheduled for next day," he said.
The parties will discuss bilateral military cooperation and interaction in the NATO-Russia council framework and will exchange opinions on the situation in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Also on Tuesday, Bono will be received by Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Alexy II. At the Temple of Christ the Savior, Bono will hand over to the patriarch the cross of St. Sophia Cathedral, which was taken out of Russia during World War II by Spanish soldiers fighting for Germany.
On Wednesday, Bono will visit the 27th motorized rifle brigade stationed in the south of Moscow. After that, he will fly home.
