Russia not planning to ship weapons to Iraq – Lavrov

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Russia currently has no plans to supply weapons to Iraq.

"There are currently no plans to ship weapons to Iraq," Lavrov told journalists in Moscow Tuesday.

Commenting on the situation in the Iraqi city of Al-Fallujah after it was stormed by U.S. troops, Lavrov said that "it is possible to stop the violence in Iraq by measures involving international humanitarian laws."

He said that "real humanitarian consequences of recent events" can currently be seen in Al-Fallujah.
