Russian Armed Forces leaders to discuss military development

MOSCOW. Nov 16 (Interfax-AVN) - High-ranking officials of the Russian Armed Forces will gather for a training session in Moscow from Wednesday to Friday.

"The training session will be attended by about 500 military commanders, including leaders of the Defense Ministry and the General Staff, the commanders-in-chief of arms of service and commanders of military branches, commanders of military districts and fleets, heads of the Defense Ministry's directorates and central departments," a ministry spokesman told Interfax-Military News Agency.

Participants in the training session will sum up results of Armed Forces development in 2004 and revise the missions assigned to the army and navy for the next training year. Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov and First Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Belousov will deliver reports.

High-ranking legislative and executive officials, as well as chiefs of Russian uniformed agencies, are expected to attend the opening of the session on Wednesday.

The training session will work in panels in armed services and military branches, as well as in the Defense Ministry's directorates and central departments on Thursday and Friday.
