STAVROPOL. Nov 17 (Interfax-AVN) - Four armed people were detained by border guards in the area controlled by the Vladikavkaz border guard detachment, where two servicemen were assaulted overnight to Tuesday.
"A patrol of a border picket stopped a car with four unidentified people in the border zone. Border guards examined the vehicle and found two Kalashnikov assault rifles and a Tigr rifle in it," Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Livantsov, press service chief of the North Caucasus regional border guard directorate, told Interfax-Military News Agency on Wednesday.
The detainees had no documents for the weapons, he said. Border guards handed them over to law-enforcement agencies, and an investigation was launched.
The search for the people who attacked the border patrol and stole their weapons is still underway in the area controlled by the Vladikavkaz detachment, Livantsov said.
"Two border guards, who got stab wounds in the daring attack, are in a military hospital in stable condition," he added.
