KHANKALA. Nov 18 (Interfax-AVN) - An active member in illegal armed units suspected of attacking police officers was detained in the Achkhoi-Martan district, spokesman for the federal forces in the North Caucasus Major General Ilya Shabalkin told Interfax on Thursday.
An investigation has established that the man, who was a member of prominent guerilla leader Doku Umarov's unit, was among the organizers and perpetrators of a bombing on a road that wounded several policemen, Shabalkin said.
