KHANKALA. Nov 19 (Interfax-AVN) - Two large plastic containers filled with weapons, ammunition and explosives have been discovered in the village of Isti-Su in Chechnya's Gudermes district.
The cache was found after a tip-off from guerrilla commander Ruslan Akhmadov, who was detained on Thursday, the Chechen Interior Ministry's press service told Interfax on Friday.
Another militant has been detained in the republic's Naurskaya district, Major General Ilya Shabalkin, spokesman for the federal forces in the North Caucasus, told Interfax on Friday.
The detained guerrilla admitted his role in an August 21, 2004 attack on Grozny police officers and a series of attacks against law enforcement officials and civilians since 2002.
